When I opened my massage office, my daughter gave me a waterfall poster with the inscription, “The time to relax is when you don’t have time for it.” When you don’t take time-outs from your busy schedule, your body, mind, and spirit perform like a car that needs a tune-up. Isn’t it strange how much money we spend to keep our cars running well, while we ignore a similar investment in ourselves? True, but real.

I tell people like you to have a massage as often as you like. Relaxation is the number one reason you may seek massage, followed closely by pain relief and body dysfunction. Massage therapy creates the perfect atmosphere for your body, mind, and spirit to recover and run well.

A few years ago, I decided to retire from my long, busy career as a financial executive, and train myself in massage therapy and bodywork. My wife and children looked at me like I had gone off the deep end. (Of course, now they beg me to receive a massage). I enrolled in the Madison Area Technical College massage therapy program. After graduating from there, I successfully completed credentialing myself with the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. I am registered with the State of Wisconsin as a Certified Massage Therapist, and I am a member of the American Massage Therapy Association and its Wisconsin Chapter.

Ever since then I have been self-employed, giving massage therapy to many wonderful individuals in my office in Sun Prairie and in the Madison East location of Dean/St. Marys Health Works. I have helped many people; what a wonderful profession massage is because it gives both ways.
